A gift from an anonymous source!
Okay friends, this delightful piece comes from way back! From a foreign country and a completely different epoch, not very long after the "invention of the cinema".
It was sent to me by a most excellent buddy who wishes to remain anonymous. I must respect the wishes of my friends even when I might not share their reticence. It's always their call.
I deeply thank our anonymous donor for this delight!

Ah it's a bugs life!
ReplyDeleteAn incredible achievement for the time, and holds up pretty well today! My favourite moment is the escape through the chimney. I was sure he was a goner when he climbed into the fireplace, ha!
ReplyDeleteI liked the fact that the intrepid cameraman travelled by bicycle with all his heavy equipment!
ReplyDeletePresented Statewitz's bug fixations years ago at the CCS... This one is with biggest representatives, the ones ready for "sloughtering" after a short examination of the space they are occupiening.... Controversal author but with certain moral qualities (as several relevant film historisians noticed - agreed during the restauration works on such a wierd material)...
ReplyDeleteI like the comment, "The dancer there, understood him"
ReplyDeleteYes Aleksia that is a beautiful line indeed!
