A "tragic mishap" ?
"Israel deeply regrets the tragic mishap that occurred
today at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza,"
This is not a dusty dirty camera!
This is a weapon of war which was pointed
threateningly at Israeli Defense Force soldiers
These are not the remnants of a journalist's equipment
They are the remains of insidious weapons
which were used by journalists killed
in the attack upon Nasser Hospital
This "terrible mishap" was not a single terrible mishap, there were two separate attacks on the hospital.
It was not the first such "tragic mishap" which has been perpetrated by the pariah State of Israel upon the people of Gaza, and it will not be the last!
This is not a demolition site!
But that was not a "tragic mishap"... it's just the sort
of collateral damage you get in times of war, and this
is not a process of vengeance conducted by Israel
against Palestinians, it is a war in which
the people of Gaza have no weapons except
the cameras of journalists who risk their lives
to take pictures and make videos of what
the Israeli Defence force is doing in Gaza.

It is all so tragic. There is no excuse. Just justification by monsters
ReplyDeleteBut he seems such a nice guy, Alix, so well dressed and always has a ready smile for every occasion. How could such a well educated and nice looking guy be a monster?
ReplyDeletept
The biggest monsters are the 'nice guys'. (From DJK)
ReplyDeleteI saw a great Palestinian film a couple of days back called Five Broken Cameras, I reckon it's as good as No Other Land. It's about an ordinary person, amateur videographer, and the five cameras he used over 5 years to film settlers taking over his village in the West Bank. It's quite clear the IDF targeted the cameras in his hand. He shows us all 5 broken cameras at the end. Amazingly, he didn't die. Bill M , can't sign in on mobile phone
ReplyDeleteBill, you are right, they have been targeting cameras and journalists for the past two years. The numbers of murdered journalists is quite staggering:
ReplyDelete"The latest deaths brings the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of the war there in October 2023 to nearly 200. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), a leading body which promotes press freedom, the war in Gaza has been the deadliest conflict for journalists ever documented." (BBC)
Let's not forget the number of Aid organisation staffers or medicos!
The count of the dead never seems to come to an end!
